Stephanie Shane, DVM

The co-owner and founder of Maple Shade Animal Hospital, Dr. Stephanie Shane graduated from Virginia Tech in 1988 with a major in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate education, Dr. Shane attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Dr. Shane's professional interests include general pet medicine, orthopedic surgery, veterinary dentistry and oral surgery.

A native of the Dale City, Virginia area, Dr. Shane is a graduate of Culpepper High School. After leaving the area in order to pursue her veterinary studies, her dream was to return and set up her own veterinary practice. This dream became a reality with the establishment of Maple Shade Animal Hospital in 1999.

Dr. Shane is married to Michael Shane, Maple Shade Animal Hospital's hospital administrator, and together they have two children, two cats and three dogs. The children's names are Kayla and Kelsey; the dogs are named Brady, Sammie, and Hannah, and the cats are called Shadey and Nike.

During her free time, Dr. Shane participates in church activities and enjoys water skiing, boating, gardening and snow skiing.
